Baker Leather is a family owned business. We strive to provide customers with amazing custom made projects and customer service, as well as repair work including, but not limited to saddles, tack, boots and other leather goods. All orders are made in our shop located in Lemitar, New Mexico. If you visit us you will to see our two sons who are sure to entertain you, and maybe try to sell you a book mark or two.
Brandon has been doing leather work since he was 10 when he received a Tandy tool kit for his birthday. He gradually added on to his tools and shop. Brandon built chaps out of his dorm room in college and later on set up a small shop in the spare bedroom of the house he was living in the last couple years of college . Baker Leather was opened in Pagosa Srpings, Co, in 2014 and moved to its current location in 2018.
Rachael has been tooling leather since the summer of 2015. She quit her job managing a Veterinary Hospital and began working in the shop full time later that year when Winston, the youngest, was old enough to need to start day care. We decided that we would rather raise our boys in the shop than send them to day care. She now does most of the tooling and assists in all other areas in the shop.
January of 2019 has marked the addition of ASCA registered Australian shepherds. With our background in veterinary medicine and love for this particular breed of dog, we have decided to produce high quality companion and working dogs. We currently have a 2 year old registered, black and white female with an outstanding working pedigree. With the assistance of long time breeder, Jaquie Stienbecker, from Desert Rose Australian Shepherd
s, and her outstanding red merle male "Chili" we have our first registered litter. All puppies will have a 1 year genetic health guarantee. If a genetic defect is diagnosed by a veterinarian and you would like to return the puppy, we will offer a replacement, if available, or a refund of purchase price in exchange for the animal. Shipping fees will not be refunded. We hope to help many more people fall in love with this very special breed.
